If you look below, you'll see an example of 'before and after' with one of my restorations......a derelict Dublo 2-6-4T has been restored and fully re-finished with original style transfers and the motor and chassis refurbished, and then displayed in a repro box. The last time this model looked so good (and worked so well) was when Elvis Presley was No1, and Egypt had blocked the Suez Canal !
I carry out restorations to derelict and damaged Hornby Dublo locomotives and rolling stock. I can re-finish locos in alternative names / numbers and re-livery them (e.g. Duchesses in BR express passenger blue, 0-6-2Ts in BR green etc). If there's a loco which you wish Meccano had made but didn't, I may be able to help.
I have an extensive library of British steam locomotives, and can advise on loco liveries & modifications etc.
Below left is a pre-war GWR clockwork tank that was languishing in a box of junk at a collectors' fair. After restoration (below right) it ran beautifully around the layout of an enthusiast in Northern Ireland until it moved to Edinburgh five years ago - and it's still running very well there too ! It even attends HRCA meetings !
